【Statement/ステートメント】
言葉は対象を理解する手がかりを与える一方で、その全体像や余白を覆い隠してしまうことがあります。本展は、作品と言葉、そして鑑賞体験の関係を見つめ直す試みです。読む、聴く、見る、その順序によって作品の受け取り方はどのように変化するのでしょうか。説明は理解を助ける一方で、想像する自由を狭めることもあります。言葉が見せるものと見えなくするもの、そのあいだを行き来しながら、鑑賞者それぞれが作品との新たな対話を紡ぐ場となることを目指します。
While words help us understand an object or artwork, they can also obscure its entirety and the space left for interpretation. This exhibition reconsiders the relationship between artworks, language, and the experience of viewing.
How does our perception of a work change depending on whether we read, listen, or look first? While explanations deepen understanding, they can also limit the freedom to imagine. By moving between what language reveals and conceals, this exhibition invites each viewer to discover a new dialogue with the works on display.
